Quality

Our cancer center holds the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The award is granted to select cancer programs that exceed standards in at least 7 of the 36 measures of quality required for accreditation.

Alamance Regional Cancer Center has been accredited by the Commission on Cancer since 1989 and undergoes on-site surveys every three years. Only one in four hospitals holds cancer program accreditation from the American College of Surgeons.

Alamance Regional Cancer Center is also one of the first oncology practices in the nation to be recognized by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®). This voluntary program certifies that oncology practices maintain rigorous standards for high-quality cancer care and meet 80 evidence-based quality measures.
